National 5 Chemistry is an SQA qualification course:

- Component 1 — Question paper: made up of 25 marks multiple choice and 75 marks for extended response questions
- Component 2 — Assignment: 20 marks (scaled up to 25 marks)
- Total marks — 125 marks

Entry Requirements
This course is suitable for pupils who have achieved Level 4 in Chemistry.

A pass at National 5 Chemistry (A or B) allows pupils to progress to Higher Chemistry
